5/22/08 NYSL UPDATE

Kate Sargeant, who served as an umpire crew chief for the NYSL last season, has been promoted to the United League of Baseball as a fulltime umpire for 2008. The native of Washington state ran a three-man crew out of Utica last summer. "We're glad to see Kate making the step up, " said Nick Belmonte, NYSL Player Personnel Director. "She did a nice job for us and I'm sure she'll do well in the ULB. We wish her all the best."

JOHN MOLYNEUX, OF, Fort Worth Cats (AA) has a ring! His Cats won the fifth and deciding game in the series last night over the St. Paul Saints 4-1. MOLYNEUX was one for three with an RBI and hit .278 in the Championship Series. Congratulations to John!

9/08/07 NYSL PLAYER UPDATE

JOHN MOLYNEUX, OF, Fort Worth Cats (AA) went one for three and stole two bases as his Cats beat St. Paul 2-0 and forced a game five in the Championship Series. MOLYNEUX is now hitting .273 in the four games. JONO BROOKS, SS, Rockford RiverHawks (FL) was one for three with an RBI but Windy City swept the three games series ending the Hawks' season 8-6. BROOKS hit .222 in the series.

JOHN MOLYNEUX, OF, Fort Worth Cats (AA), went zero for two with a SH as his team lost to the visiting St. Paul Saints 3-2 last night. St. Paul now leads the Championship Series two games to one.

JONO BROOKS, SS, Rockford Riverhawks (FL) went zero for three as his team lost the second game of their playoff series to Windy City 5-0. The Hawks now trail in the series 2-0.

JONO BROOKS, SS, and JOHN MOLYNEUX, OF, each had a hit
last night in their respective playoff games. BROOKS had a triple but his Rockford RiverHawks (FL) lost their series opener to Windy City 3-2. MOLYNEUX contributed a single but his Fort Worth Cats were pounded by the St. Paul Saints 10-3, tying the AA
Championship Series at a game apiece.

9/04/07 NYSL PLAYER UPDATE

JOHN MOLYNEUX, OF, went one for four as his Fort Worth Cats (AA) stormed into St. Paul and defeated the Saints in the first game of the Championship Series 6-3. MOLYNEUX is hitting .291 in the playoffs. The Rockford RiverHawks (FL) also made the playoffs and JONO BROOKS, SS, finished the season hitting .299. CHRIS SCAROLA, OF, got in three late season games for the Brockton Rox (Can-Am) and was zero for eight.

9/03/07 NYSL PLAYER UPDATE

JOHN MOLYNEUX, OF, Fort Worth Cats (AA) had two doubles in five at-bats and drove in two runs as the Cats pounded the El Paso Diablos 14-0 to advance to the American Association Championship Series against the St. Paul Saints. The Cats took the semifinal series three games to two with MOLYNEUX hitting a cool .300. During the regular season he hit .271 for the Cats.

Chico Outlaws are GBL Champs! PAUL WILSON, RHP, gets a ring! The Chico Outlaws defeated the Long Beach Armada 6-1 to win the Golden Baseball League Championship Series three games to one. PAUL WILSON made eight relief appearances for the Outlaws and had a 0-0 record with a 5.40 ERA. Opponents batted .233 against him. Congratulations, Paul!

Can-Am Update: PAT WARFLE, OF, is hitting .429 for the Atlantic City Surf. JOE McGHEE, C, is batting .300 for the Brockton Rox. Teammate ANDRE ALVARADO, SS, is hitting .196. For the Quebec Capitales, Jon Burke, RHP, is 1-0 with a 3.75 ERA. Opponents are batting .292 against him. BRAD McLAUGHLIN, RHP, is 2-1 with an ERA of 4.24 and opponents are hitting .242 against him.

8/30/07 NYSL PLAYER UPDATE

JOHN MOLYNEUX, OF, Fort Worth Cats (AA) went two for eight in his team's first two playoff games for a batting average of .250. Unfortunately, Fort Worth lost both games to the El Paso Diablos.

8/29/07 NYSL PLAYER UPDATE

ANDRE ALVARADO, 3B, Brockton Rox (Can-Am) went one for three and had three RBIs as Brockton defeated New Haven County 11-4. Alvarado is now batting .208. Alvarado has also played 2B and SS for the Rox this season.

8/28/07 NYSL PLAYER UPDATE

ANDREW WONG, 3B, has had an interesting season. He started in the NYSL and was promoted to the St. George Roadrunners (GBL). After being released by St, George, he caught on with the Orange County Flyers in the same league. After being released there, he hooked up with the Charlotte County Redfish of the SCL. In four games for the Redfish, he hit .357. Playoff Update: BRIAN CAMPBELL, RHP, pitched two innings of scoreless relief as his Lincoln Saltdogs (AA) lost to St. Paul 11-2. JOHN MOLYNEUX, OF, went one for four as his Fort Worth Cats (AA) lost to El Paso 6-2.

Joliet Jackhammers (NL) update: LONNIE PATTERSON, RHP, has an ERA of 5.73 in eight appearances. Opponents are batting .220 against him. JOSH REGITS, RHP, has a 1-3 record in five starts and an ERA of 5.10. The league is hitting .278 against him. MATT MAZUREK, OF, is hitting .167 in 14 games.

ADAM AMAR, 1B, Reno Silver Sox (GBL) is hitting .367 with 4 HRs and 18 RBI in 22 games. He has an OBP of .433. Teammate JOSH McCLEOD, C, is hitting .217 with an .368 OBP. Also in the GBL, PAUL WILSON, RHP, Chico Outlaws, has a 4.50 ERA in nine appearances. Opponents are hitting .214 against him.

8/24/07 NYSL PLAYER UPDATE

JOE McGHEE, C , Brockton Rox (Can-Am) knocked in five runs as his team defeated the Quebec Capitales 11-9. McGHEE's bases clearing double in the seventh inning put the Rox up for good 11-8. Teammate ANDRE ALVARADO, 2B, went one for for three and also had a SF. JON BURKE, LHP, of the Capitales contributed two innings of scoreless relief. His ERA is now 3.97 and opponents are batting .267 against him.

8/23/07 NYSL PLAYER UPDATE

In a game carried by the Dish Network, BRIAN CAMPBELL, RHP, Lincoln Saltdogs (AA) pitched five innings of two-run ball and got a no-decision. He walked four and struck out two. His ERA is now 4.41. Teammate ROSS MCOY, OF, gave him a 2-1 lead with an RBI single and is now hitting .287. Lincoln lost the game to the St. Paul Saints 3-2. JOE DEMPSEY, C, who is hitting .306, also played in the game.

8/22/07 NYSL PLAYER UPDATE

BRAD McLAUGHLIN, RHP , Quebec Capitales (Can-Am) threw two innings of one-hit relief as his team beat the Brockton Rox. His ERA is now 3.64. JOE McGHEE, C, Brockton Rox (Can-Am) went one for four. His batting average is now .400.

8/21/07 NYSL PLAYER UPDATE

JONO BROOKS , SS, Rockford RiverHawks (FL) is on a hitting tear and is now batting .294. He has two doubles and three triples as well as an OBP of .380 and a slugging percentage of .412 in twenty-five games. He has also continued his good fielding and has only three errors for the RiverHawks. JOHN MOLYNEUX, OF, Fort Worth Cats (AA) went two for five in a doubleheader and knocked in one run. His average is now .256.

For the Reno Silver Sox (GBL): ADAM AMAR, 1B, is hitting .385 and JOSH McCLEOD, C, is batting ,242. ADAM HARENDZA, RHP, has a 6.84 ERA in seven relief appearances and JOE WALENTIN, RHP, is 0-1 and a 2.84 ERA in four appearances. BRIAN GRUPP, C, El Paso Diablos (AA) got his first hit for the team last night. He played third base and also served as the Diablos' DH. ERIC ALVAREZ, RHP, St. Joe Blacksnakes (AA) threw 2 1/3 innings of one -hit relief. JOE McGHEE, C, is now three for six for the Brockton Rox (Can-Am)) and is hitting .500. BRAD McLAUGHLIN, RHP, pitched 2/3 of an inning of scoreless relief for the Quebec Capitales (Can-Cam). He has a 2-1 record with a 3.90 ERA in nine appearances.

JONO BROOKS, SS, Rockford RiverHawks (FL) is hitting .254 and has committed only two errors in 23 games. LONNIE PATTERSON, RHP, Joliet Jackhammers (NL), has am ERA of 6.00 in five relief appearances but opposing hitters are batting only .182 against him. Director of Player Personnel NICK BELMONTE and Manager BROOKS CAREY in atttendance, two alumni both made a big contribution as the Lincoln Saltdogs downed the St. Joe Blacksnakes 7-5 in an American Association game last night. ROSS McCOY, OF, hit his first professional home run to put Lincoln ahead 6-5. He went 2 for 4 as did teammate JOE DEMPSEY, C.

JOSH REGITS, RHP, had a strong starting debut for the Joliet Jackhammers (NL). He gave up two earned runs over six innings but ended up with a no-decision as Joliet lost to Kansas City 9-5. BRAD McLAUGHLIN, RHP, gave up seven hits and four earned runs in six innings, picking up the loss for Quebec City (Can-Am), and was followed on the mound by JON BURKE, LHP, who pitched a scoreless seventh inning. In two relief outings for YUMA (GBL), RAY DEVAUL, LHP, has pitched 2.2 innings of scoreless baseball. In other Can-Am news: PAT WARFLE, OF, is showing his versatility for the Atlantic City Surf, playing second base, going 2 for 3 and raising his average to .500 ANDRE ALVARADO, SS, also went 2 for 3 for the Brockton Rox and raised his average to .333 . RHP Brian Campbell must have liked the heat in El Paso. He pitched seven innings of one run ball as his Lincoln Saltdogs (AA) pounded the home team Diablos 12-2. Cambell has given up only one run in two starts and is now 2-0 for the Dogs.

BRAD McLAUGHLIN, RHP, has now made five appearances for Quebec (Can-Am) and has a 2.08 ERA. Opposing hitters are batting only .178 against him. JUSTIN YOUNG, RHP, pitched two scoreless innings in his debut for the Rockford RiverHawks (FL). Teammate VINCE RIZZI, RHP, who had a 10.38 ERA in two appearances, was released. RYAN McARDLE, DH,smashed the first pitch he saw for a three run homer as his Rockford RiverHawks (FL) crushed the Slippery Rock Sliders 17-3. Teammate JONO BROOKS extended his errorless streak at shortstop to 11 games and is hitting .214. CHRIS ANTONIDES, RHP, continued to struggle for the River City Rascals (FL), as his ERA soared to 14.58. PAT WARFLE, OF, raised his batting average to .429 for the Atlantic City Surf (Can-Am).

7/28/07 NYSL PLAYER UPDATE

ROSS McCOY,OF, of the Lincoln Saltdogs (AA) is 8 for 28 with three doubles and a .286 batting average. MATT MAZUREK, OF, of the Joliet Jackhammers (NL) is still looking for his first hit after three games in the league. Teammate LONNIE PATTERSON, RHP, saw his ERA balloon to 13.00. He's allowed 4 earned runs in three innings but has struck out three.

7/27/07 NYSL PLAYER UPDATE

JOSH REGITS, RHP, pitched three scoreless innings in his Northern League debut but his team, the Joliet Jackhammers, came up short 6-2 to Fargo.CHRIS ANTONIDES, RHP, did not fare as well in his River City Rascal (Frontier) initial outing. He gave up nine hits, two walks and six earned runs in three innings. VINCE RIZZI, RHP, had a rough second outing for the Rockford RiverHawks, yielding two earned runs in one-third of an inning. Teammate JONO BROOKS has now played nine consecutive errorless games at shortstop. ANDREW WONG, 3B, is hitting .286 for the Orange County Flyers (GBL) and so is ANDRE ALVARADO for the Brockton Rox (Can-Am).

LONNIE PATTERSON, RHP, of the Joliet Jackhammers (Northern), retired seven batters in relief as his team mounted a comeback and defeated Fargo 10-7. BRAD McLAUGHLIN, RHP, of the Quebec Capitales (Can-Am) lowered his ERA to 1.13. He has allowed only one earned run in four relief appearances. ANDRE ALVARADO, SS, of the Brockton Rox (Can-Am) got another hit and raised his average to .333. Lincoln Saltdogs’ teammates ROSS McCOY, OF, and JOE DEMPSEY, C, are hitting .333 and .313
